Cocopeat (washed) 250g/500g

Description

Fantastic additional enrichment substrate enjoyed by most hamsters.
Will actually be conducive to tunneling if a deep enough pit area is provided and compacted a little.
Can also be mixed with Chipsi Digging substrate and/or various botanical mixes for extra foraging stimulation.

This plain cocopeat is washed and semi-dried for your convenience, and ready for a final blast in your oven to remove the last bit of moisture, and in order to properly sterilize and kill off any live organisms:

• Bake in an oven dish at 180°C.
• Stir regularly and DON’T LET IT BURN as it dries (and be careful not to burn yourself on the hot steam that it emits as you stir it!).
• OR,  if you let it completely dry naturally, you can give the oven a miss and freeze it for 48 hours instead before putting into the habitat.

Now also available in 250g bags for top-ups, if necessary, or for your hamster to try out.

If Chipsi Digging substrate becomes unavailable in the future, this will be the alternative.
